New AliveCor Leaders Further AliveCor’s Momentum in Wearable MedTech

Advances Efforts to Expand Machine Learning, Product Design, and Visualization Capabilities

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. March 21, 2016– AliveCor, Inc., the leader in FDA-cleared ECG technology for mobile devices, announced today the appointment of two former Google leads, Frank Petterson and Simon Prakash. Petterson joins AliveCor as the company’s Vice President of Engineering and Prakash as Vice President of Products and Design. Together they will drive the development of products that will continue to enable people and doctors worldwide to proactively manage heart conditions, anywhere anytime. They will lead engineers and data scientists to disrupt the standard of cardiac care and support the company’s expansion into the new Wearable MedTech space, pioneered by AliveCor.

Prior to joining AliveCor, Petterson worked at Google heading up the engineering team for YouTube Live and Gaming and delivered YouTube’s live streaming and gaming products. Additionally, while at Google, he led the engineering for Hangouts and the Google+ iOS app. Prior to Google, he spent seven years as a production technology supervisor at Industrial Light and Magic where he received nine feature film credits for the design and development of simulation software in movies such as Avatar, Transformers, Star Trek and Harry Potter. Frank is a recognized Academy Award winner for the development of the Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) fluid simulation system.

Prakash joins AliveCor with more than 20 years of experience in product development and design. He most recently served as the Senior Director of Product Hardware Development at Google where he led the design and development of the current and future versions of Google Glass. Prior to Google, he was a Senior Director of Product Integrity in the Hardware design group at Apple for almost nine years and was directly involved in developing the first iPhone, iPad, and many industry-leading laptops and desktops.
